Who runs the car parks

Hayling Island's seafront car parks, known as the Beachlands car parks, are run by Havant Borough Council. The council's parking pages say to always check the notice board at the car park for the current tariff, chargeable days, times and conditions, so treat the figures below as a guide to the council's published 2026 table and confirm on site.

The seafront car parks named in the council's 2026 charges table are The Nab, Eastoke Corner, Bound Lane, Mengham Lane, Chichester Avenue, Central, Royal North and South, West, and Ferry.

Hourly charges at the seafront car parks

The council's Parking charges 2026 table lists the same tariff for these seafront car parks, applying every day including bank holidays, 6am to 10pm, from 1 April to 30 September:

- 1 hour: £2.00
- 2 hours: £3.80
- 3 hours: £5.60
- 4 hours: £7.20
- All day: £14.00
- Vehicles with a trailer, coaches, motorhomes and horseboxes: £20

The council's Beachlands parking page says charges apply to cars, vans, motorhomes, campervans, horseboxes, coaches and vehicles with trailers every day from 6am to 10pm, including bank holidays. For charges outside 1 April to 30 September, check the notice board at the car park, because the table we saw gives its rates for the summer period only.

Season tickets and permits

From the council's 2026 table, 12-month season tickets for the Beachlands car parks are:

- Car or van: £230.22
- Pensioner car or van: £179.09 (the council's page says over 67, with proof of age)
- Car with trailer: £255.90
- Wellbeing permit: £78.34, valid 6am to 9am and 6pm to 10pm
- Motorhome: £400 for 6 months or £500 for 12 months

A separate season ticket covering council car parks in Waterlooville, Emsworth, Leigh Park, Hayling Island and Elmleigh Road is listed at £204.65 for 3 months, £332.50 for 6 months and £575.55 for 12 months. Only one vehicle can be registered per permit. Use the season ticket request form on the Beachlands page, or email parking.team@havant.gov.uk or phone 023 9244 6019. Permit details are on the council's parking permits page.

Motorhomes, horses and overnight parking

Motorhomes and any vehicle adapted to sleep in are prohibited from every Beachlands car park from 10pm to 6am, every day of the year. Horses and horseboxes are £20 for any length of stay, and seasonal limits apply on the seafront: between Good Friday and 30 September horses are allowed from 7pm to 10am only.

Blue badge holders and motorcyclists

There are no charges for blue badge holders at the Beachlands car parks during charging hours. The council also reserves disabled spaces for badge holders 24 hours a day, free of charge. Motorcycles are free in the Beachlands car parks, and elsewhere in council car parks they can park free in a motorcycle bay or any white-lined bay.

Blue badges are issued through Hampshire County Council. Apply at GOV.UK; a badge costs up to £10 in England, councils usually decide within 12 weeks, and badges usually last up to 3 years. To ask about a disabled bay, email traffic.management@hants.gov.uk.

Parking fines

If you get a penalty charge notice you can pay online or challenge it within 14 days through the council's pay or challenge a parking fine page.

Beach hut parking

Beach hut licences do not come with a parking permit. See our beach huts guide.
