Beachlands

Traditional seaside funfair and beach on the island's eastern shore — a holiday favourite since the 1950s.

Beachlands is the eastern end of the Hayling Island seafront, centred on the traditional funfair and amusements that have been a fixture on the island since the mid-20th century. The Beachlands area has a distinctly nostalgic seaside character — with the funfair rides, amusement arcades, and a family-friendly beach immediately behind.

The Beachlands funfair operates from Easter through to the end of the summer season, offering traditional rides, hook-a-duck stalls, and candy floss. It is one of the features most associated with Hayling Island for visitors who came as children and return year after year.

Eastoke Corner, at the south-eastern tip of the island, is reachable on foot from Beachlands and offers views across the entrance to Chichester Harbour with the Isle of Wight visible on clear days. The RNLI lifeboat station is based nearby, and the eastern beach at Eastoke is a popular destination for paddleboarders and sea kayakers.

The Hayling Billy Coastal Path runs along the eastern side of the island from Beachlands northward to the old Hayling Island railway station site near Havant, giving a traffic-free route for cyclists and walkers with harbour views throughout.
