North Hayling

Quiet, rural northern Hayling with views over Langstone Harbour SSSI — great for birdwatching, walking, and a pint at the waterside.

North Hayling is the quieter, less-developed northern part of the island closest to the bridge connection to Havant. It has a more rural character than South Hayling, with farmland, the Oystercatcher pub at the water's edge, and sweeping views across Langstone Harbour.

Langstone Harbour is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and one of the most important habitats for wading birds and wildfowl in southern England. The harbour's mudflats attract large numbers of Brent geese in winter, along with dunlin, redshank, curlew, and oystercatcher. Birdwatching is a major activity for visitors to North Hayling.

The Royal Hotel at Northney is an historic pub close to the harbour edge. Northney Marina provides berths for sailing and motor yachts, and the nearby Northney Farm Shop is well regarded for local produce.
