Markets & Annual Events on Hayling Island

Hayling's calendar runs from community-centre shows and a Mengham Christmas market to seasonal events at Funland. Here is what we can confirm, and where to check this year's dates.

Hayling Island's recurring events include the Christmas market at Mengham run by local traders, seasonal Halloween, Christmas and firework nights at Funland, and a year-round programme at Hayling Island Community Centre and the Station Theatre. Check each organiser's site for this year's dates.

Hayling does not have a big town-centre market like some places, so this guide focuses on the events we can confirm from the organisers or the council. Dates move every year: use the links in the guide and treat any date below as a snapshot.

Christmas at Mengham

Havant Borough Council coordinates festive events across the borough with community groups and local traders. In 2024 Hayling Island's Mengham joined in from Saturday 30 November, and in 2025 the council listed a Christmas Market at Mengham on Saturday 6 December, organised by Mengham businesses and traders. The pattern, a lights switch-on and a traders' market around late November and early December, is a good guide, but check the council's Christmas news for the exact day each year.

Hayling Island Community Centre (HICCA)

The Hayling Island Community Centre Association is a registered charity based on Station Road. It describes itself as the heart and hub of the island, with weekly and monthly groups, coach trips and special events. Its own events page lists a mix of shows, bingo, theatre and comedy. At the time of writing (October 2026) the programme included:

- an evening of mediumship on Thursday 8 October 2026
- Halloween Boogie Bingo on Friday 16 October 2026
- Hayling Youngstars' production of Disney's High School Musical: On Stage! from 28 to 31 October 2026
- Stitches Comedy Club on Friday 18 December 2026

Tickets and prices are set by each organiser, so check the HICCA events page before you go.

Funland seasonal events

Funland on the seafront mentions Halloween, Christmas and firework nights on its website. Its Fright Night and winter events change each year, so check Funland's own site for the dates, prices and booking.

Station Theatre

The Station Theatre, run by the Hayling Island Amateur Dramatic Society in Station Road, puts on plays, musicals, music events, pantomimes and monthly film screenings. Its current programme includes pantomimes. See stationtheatre.co.uk for the current programme and tickets.

Markets

We could not confirm a regular weekly or monthly market on Hayling from an official source. Craft and indoor markets are sometimes advertised by local organisers and at the community centre, so check the HICCA events page and the venue's own listings. In 2022 the council licensed seasonal concession traders at some of its Hayling car parks, so check the council's website for current arrangements.
